This strategic partnership aims to establish a highly flexible and interconnected ocean network renowned for its industry-leading reliability. The fleet pool will consist of approximately 290 vessels, boasting a combined capacity of 3.4 million containers (TEU), with Maersk contributing 60% and Hapag-Lloyd 40%.<\/p>\n<p>Central to this collaboration is the shared commitment of both companies to fleet decarbonization, with Maersk targeting net-zero emissions by 2040 and Hapag-Lloyd by 2045. The ambitious goal is in achieving schedule reliability above 90% upon full implementation of the network. Customers will enjoy improved transit times along major port-to-port corridors, coupled with access to some of the world\u2019s most connected ocean hubs.<\/p>\n<p>In preparation for the launch in February 2025, Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd will meticulously plan the transition from their existing alliances to the new operational cooperation throughout 2024. The \u201cGemini Cooperation\u201d will span 7 trades, covering key routes such as Asia\/US West Coast, Asia\/US East Coast, and Asia\/Mediterranean.
