The partners report an investment in the \u201ctens of millions of euros\u201d, which is the largest foreign capital project in the history of Duisburger Hafen. Arkas is responsible for local market and operational experience, while duisport\u2019s contribution is framed around its international network and terminal know\u2011how.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/gruzingeo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/f1592d2bd4885862.jpg\" alt=\"Turkey\u2019s first intermodal terminal begins operations.\" class=\"wp-image-17300\" title=\"Europe Turkey\u2019s first intermodal terminal begins operations.\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Duisburger <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Railport occupies 265,000\u202fm\u00b2 and includes more than 10,000\u202fm of track, 5,000\u202fm\u00b2 of temporary enclosed storage and a 15,000\u202fm\u00b2 warehouse with capacity for over 22,000 standard Euro pallets. The site also offers customs, warehousing and container freight station services. It is connected with the upgraded Baku-Tbilisi-Akhalkalaki (BTK) route, which connects Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, and with the so\u2011called Central Corridor towards Central Asia, China and Southeast Asia. Railport also has access to Europe through Turkey\u2019s rail network and proximity to the Marmaray tunnel under the Bosphorus.<\/p>\n<p>Railport\u2019s launch comes as stakeholders in Turkish logistics highlight the country\u2019s position on key east-west freight routes.
