The company noted that joining one of the world\u2019s leading shipping and logistics companies marks a new stage in Freightliner\u2019s development and strengthens its position as a leading intermodal rail operator in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>Freightliner emphasized that the transaction reflects the companies\u2019 shared strategy to create a more integrated, efficient, and sustainable intermodal offering for the UK market and international customers. Freightliner operates a network of 10 terminals, with approximately 1.4 million rail slots, a fleet of 2,000 railcars, and one of the country\u2019s largest fleets of electric locomotives.<\/p>\n<p>Freightliner will continue to operate as a standalone multi-user and multi-client intermodal operator in the UK, developing a national sustainable network and reducing CO2 emissions by thousands of tonnes.
