The first train, operated by Medlog for MSC, carried 36 20-foot containers loaded with imported agri-food products.<\/p>\n<p>The containers had been unloaded at APM Terminals in El Musel after arriving on MSC vessels serving the hub ports of Antwerp and Sines.<\/p>\n<p>The service will initially run once a week, with plans to increase frequency to two weekly rotations. The connection combines maritime arrivals at El Musel with rail distribution inland, linking Asturias with the province of Le\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Port Authority of Gij\u00f3n, each train movement replaces up to 72 truck journeys on the road corridor between the port and Le\u00f3n.
