The company expects to complete the project within 18 months of contract signing. Bids will be accepted until March 27, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The project includes the construction of a new building approximately 60 meters long, equipped with an approximately 30-meter inspection pit. It will house a welding shop and other railcar repair facilities. The construction of approximately 1.4 kilometers of new track is also planned, allowing for the simultaneous storage of over 50 railcars within the depot.<\/p>\n<p>The project includes the creation of comprehensive support infrastructure, including utility lines, fire protection systems, video surveillance and security, communications networks, and protective fencing. PKP Intercity is also considering the implementation of energy-efficient solutions, including the use of renewable energy sources such as solar panels. Overall, between 2025 and 2030, the operator plans to invest approximately PLN 3.4 billion in the modernisation of its facilities and infrastructure, including the reconstruction of track facilities in Przemy\u015bl, the construction of a new locomotive depot in Warsaw and the renovation of production facilities in Krakow.<\/p>\n<\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Polish passenger operator PKP Intercity has announced plans to transform an existing railcar storage area in Bia\u0142ystok into a fully-fledged rolling stock maintenance and repair depot.
