The talks at Maktaaral station focused on freight traffic results and coordination of border rail infrastructure development between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>The parties noted record-breaking results of cooperation: by the end of 2025, freight volume reached 32.3 million tonnes, 16% more than in 2024 and the best result in a decade. Kazakhstan\u2019s exports totaled 13 million tonnes (an increase of 8.5%), while grain shipments to Uzbekistan increased by 32% to exceed 4.5 million tonnes. This positive trend continues in 2026: in the first two months, freight volume has already reached 6.6 million tonnes, 37.5% higher than the same period last year. Further growth in freight traffic is expected by the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Special attention was given to the construction of the new Darbaza-Maktaaral line with access to the Maktaaral-Syrdarya interstate crossing.
