The agreement provides for further investments in the development of the port\u2019s infrastructure, increasing its throughput capacity, and strengthening its role in the Black Sea region and the Danube Basin.<\/p>\n<p>Bucharest hopes that integrating Giurgiulesti into the Port of Constanta will strengthen transport links between the EU and neighboring countries amid changing logistics routes. The port is also seen as an important element of future logistics for Ukraine\u2019s recovery.<\/p>\n<p>Giurgiulesti International Port is located at the mouth of the Danube River near the borders of Romania and Ukraine and is capable of handling both river and sea vessels, accounting for over 70% of Moldova\u2019s waterborne import and export cargo. Its infrastructure includes an oil terminal, two grain terminals, a general cargo terminal, and a business park.
