According to China Daily, the new railway will feature a dual-gauge format, utilizing both standard and broad-gauge tracks. The line is scheduled to enter into commercial operation in 2027.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project entails the fabrication of 760 T-beams, 268 of which have already been manufactured. According to the publication, work on the underground infrastructure is currently approximately 26% complete. Once finished, the railway will be capable of transporting up to 30 million tons of cargo annually, thereby significantly increasing the transport capacity between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, the construction effort is fraught with significant technical challenges. Operations are being conducted within the harsh environment of the Gobi Desert, where construction crews must contend with persistent strong winds and dust storms.
