This new mechanism combines the advantages of free customs zones with streamlined TIR procedures, resulting in fewer transshipments and inspections, while allowing for the deferral of import duty payments to a later stage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One notable example involved a shipment routed through the port city of Qingdao in Shandong Province. A 40-ton consignment of electronic components was shipped by sea from Vietnam; the cargo was subsequently consolidated within a free trade zone and dispatched to Azerbaijan aboard two TIR trucks. According to project participants, this approach reduced transit time by nearly a week compared to an exclusively maritime route.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another shipment was organized through the Binzhou Bonded Logistics Centre, also located in Shandong Province. Cargo arriving from Southeast Asian countries was transloaded onto six TIR trucks and reached Azerbaijan in just 15 days.
