The vessel will be part of a program to expand Kazakhstan\u2019s merchant fleet in the Caspian Sea. In total, the parties plan to build two modern container ships by the end of 2027 to transport containerized cargo along routes in the Trans-Caspian region.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project aims to increase Kazakhstan\u2019s maritime transport capacity and improve the efficiency of container shipping. The new vessels are expected to strengthen the country\u2019s position on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), a route of growing importance for freight traffic between Asia and Europe. Bringing these container ships into service is expected to boost transport volumes and enhance the competitiveness of Caspian logistics services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, Kazakhstan is pursuing other shipbuilding projects. During negotiations with the Baku Shipyard, the parties discussed the construction of two dry cargo vessels for JSC \u201cNC \u2018Kazakhstan Temir Zholy&#8217;\u201d (KTZ), a contract for which has already been signed. Design specifications are currently being finalized, with delivery of the vessels scheduled for 2028.
