The opening ceremony, attended by representatives from the business community and public authorities, marked a significant step in developing the region\u2019s sustainable transport infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Coinciding with the launch of the charging station, Contargo North France unveiled the company\u2019s first two electric trucks in France \u2013 fully electric Mercedes eActros models \u2013 which will be used for container transport. The new infrastructure features two charging points for heavy-duty electric vehicles located right at the terminal entrance, a move designed to boost operational efficiency and accelerate the transition to low-carbon logistics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project was funded by Syndicat Mixte Docks Seine Nord Europe \/ Escaut, the operator of public port infrastructure in the Valenciennes region. Its facilities handle the transport of approximately 1.2 million tonnes of cargo annually via inland waterways.
