Starting in July 2026, all vehicles weighing between 2.5 and 3.5 tonnes engaged in international transport or cabotage within the EU must be equipped with modern tachographs. These devices will automatically record driving time, speed, distance traveled, and driver activity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company notes that these new requirements aim to improve compliance with work and rest regulations, enhance road safety, and safeguard drivers\u2019 working conditions. However, Europa Road estimates that these changes could also lead to a reduction in available transport capacity, higher shipping costs, and longer delivery times. Adrian Redmile, Europa Road\u2019s Network Development and Road Freight Sales Director, emphasized that the changes could significantly impact the express delivery market, where speed and vehicle availability are critical.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite the upcoming changes, Europa Road stated that it would continue to provide time-critical transport services across Europe, including the delivery of small pallets, just-in-time shipments, and specialized goods such as medical products and automotive components. The company believes the new rules may prompt clients to re-evaluate their logistics strategies and increasingly opt for groupage (consolidated) transport as a more cost-effective and environmentally friendly solution.
