The first container train has been sent from the joint cargo terminal in Xi’an (China) to the Kazakh-Chinese Zhetysu terminal in Almaty. The grand opening of the new logistics complex is scheduled for June 10, after which the facility will become the largest container hub in southern Kazakhstan.
The Zhetysu terminal will play a key role in the processing, consolidation and distribution of imported cargo from China. Its infrastructure is adapted for multimodal transportation, including rail and road transport. In addition to terminal processing, the complex will offer storage, customs clearance and delivery services on the “first and last mile” principle.
Due to its location at the intersection of international routes, Zhetysu will become a strategic logistics hub for Kazakhstan and Central Asia. The new Xi’an-Almaty route will strengthen integration into trans-regional supply chains and will help reduce logistics costs for businesses.
