SGP sets new container handling records at Saudi Arabian ports.

SGP Container Terminals, part of the Saudi Global Ports group, announced two significant milestones in October 2025. The company handled its 15 millionth TEU since commencing commercial operations in 2015 and also recorded a record volume handled in a single vessel call – 23,947 TEUs on board the container vessel CSCL ARCTIC OCEAN. Another subsidiary, SGP Intermodal (formerly SGP Riyadh), reached the 4 million TEU mark handled since 2022.

These achievements were made possible by SGP’s close collaboration with the Saudi Arabian Port Authority, tax and customs authorities, the railway operator Saudi Arabia Railway, international shipping lines, and long-term partners, enabling sustainable growth and increased logistics efficiency.

SGP CEO Rob Harrison emphasized that these achievements reflect not only the scale of handling but also the company’s progress in developing innovation, investment, and local talent. He stated that Saudi Global Ports continues to build an integrated, technologically advanced port ecosystem that strengthens the Kingdom’s role as a key logistics hub in the region.
