On the China-Central Asia and China-Europe routes, the Tez Customs digital platform is being introduced for the automatic submission and issuance of transit declarations for goods transported along rail routes. The project is being implemented jointly by the State Revenue Committee, the national carrier Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and Global DTC, a subsidiary of the global port operator PSA International.
The pilot launch, starting on December 9, 2023, started along the Altynkol – Saryagash route in the direction of Uzbekistan, where 109 transit declarations were successfully processed and automatically issued. Another successful stage took place on December 27, when the platform was used on the Dostyk – Brest Northern route, ensuring the automatic receipt of 52 transit declarations by the customs service of the Republic of Belarus.
The Tez Customs electronic system significantly speeds up the process of electronic declaration of transit and release by customs, reducing the time to 30 minutes. The platform will continue to operate in pilot mode until it is put into commercial operation, which is expected after a common decision is made by the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. Tez Customs provides automation of customs transit clearance, providing information on the departure and arrival of containers for all participants in the process. This platform is part of the DTC – Digital Trade Corridor, designed to digitalize document flow in multimodal transport and develop the Trans-Caspian international transport route. The platform will be used by all TMTM countries – China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
