Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways (ADY), held working meetings with the management of PACE Group, Georgia’s leading logistics company responsible for terminal operations at the Port of Poti, as well as with the management of the Batumi Seaport. The parties discussed the current state and prospects for cooperation between the railway and port structures of the two countries.

During the talks, special attention was paid to expanding cooperation between logistics companies and the seaports of Azerbaijan and Georgia. The ADY delegation was briefed on the port infrastructure, noting that the ports of Batumi and Poti, strategically located on the Black Sea, have modern infrastructure and the capacity to handle a wide range of cargo.

Rovshan Rustamov emphasized that railway and port operations in Azerbaijan are structured under a unified management system. The integration of the Port of Baku into the ADY structure last year has already yielded tangible results: in 2025, the Port of Baku handled a record-breaking 107,000 TEU of containerized cargo, a 40% increase over the 2024 figure. According to him, deepening cooperation and sharing experience between the ports of Baku, Poti, and Batumi will improve the efficiency of handling growing cargo flows along the Middle Corridor.
