ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) is enhancing its TransFER service connecting the Czech Republic and the Baltic Sea, delivering substantial benefits to customers through shortened transit times and enhanced efficiency, all achieved with 100% RCG performance. The non-stop TransFER route between Paskov and Gdansk stands out as the sole direct link from Moravia and Northern Slovakia to the critical Baltic Sea port of Gdansk. Positioned as a pivotal transshipment hub in Central Europe, the Paskov site serves as a strategic base for RCG to efficiently distribute maritime goods flows (FCL – Full Container Loads) to destinations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

RCG’s transition to self-traction represents a significant stride, granting the company control over the entire transportation process, from securing trains to reaching the destination port and vice versa. This comprehensive logistics approach facilitates optimized route planning and heightened efficiency throughout the entire journey. The TransFER operates with two weekly round trips, ensuring a rapid transit time of just one day, and its well-suited corridor parameters accommodate heavy containers effectively. Furthermore, this TransFER connection boasts additional advantages such as direct ship links to the Far East and Scandinavia, featuring transit times comparable to those of Hamburg.
