On February 18, the grand opening ceremony of the Ontustik Terminal container complex took place in the industrial zone of Shymkent. The new terminal is designed to simultaneously store up to 3,000 containers and is ready to receive, process, and transship containerized and imported cargo, creating a modern infrastructure for the development of multimodal logistics in southern Kazakhstan.

The project is being implemented in stages and includes three development phases. The next stages include obtaining permits for customs procedures, opening a temporary storage warehouse for processing and clearing imported cargo, expanding the warehouse infrastructure, and creating service areas for integrated cargo handling.
Investments in the terminal’s construction are in line with the state strategy to strengthen the country’s transport and logistics potential and are aimed at increasing the efficiency of cargo flows and developing regional trade. Ontustik Terminal is open to cooperation with foreign container operators and logistics companies, offering partnerships and participation in the development of new international logistics routes.
