The Port of Gdansk once again confirmed its status as an important player on the global stage by participating in the prestigious Maritime Silk Road Port Cooperation Forum in Ningbo (China). The delegation from Poland, headed by Vice President Krzysztof Kaczmarek, was awarded the Multilateral Friendly Ports Partnership award, which was recognition of the almost 20-year strategic partnership with the Port of Ningbo-Zhoushan and the growing importance of Gdansk in global maritime logistics.
As part of the forum, representatives of the Polish port actively participated in discussion panels, discussing the development of transport links between Europe and Asia. Kaczmarek presented the vision of Gdansk as a key logistics hub in the CEE region, and Strategy Director Dominik Landa linked the historical Silk and Amber Roads with modern routes. Particular attention was paid to the four direct container lines between Gdansk and Ningbo-Zhoushan, including services from MSC, Ocean Alliance and CMA CGM.
The visit also included talks with major industry players, including COSCO, Ocean Network Express and Chipolbrok. COSCO, which has been working directly with Gdansk since 2017, remains a strategic partner. Port representatives also visited the Meishan terminal and the Port of Gdansk’s Shanghai office, demonstrating a commitment to a long-term presence in Asia and aspiration to become a partner of choice for ship owners, investors and logistics operators worldwide.
