The Port of Liverpool has opened a new deepwater bulk handling berth, the first such facility built in 40 years. It is located at the Alexandra Complex, operated by Peel Ports, and has already received its first vessel, Andesborg. The berth is capable of handling Handymax class vessels, significantly expanding the port’s logistics capabilities.

The new berth complements the existing infrastructure, including the N3 Alex terminal, and increases the throughput capacity of not only the Alexandra Complex, but the entire port. This will allow Liverpool to strengthen its position in the bulk cargo segment and attract new customers.

The Alexandra Complex occupies 162.7 thousand square meters and recently received a modern warehouse worth $36.1 million, providing efficient storage and handling of cargo. The opening of the new berth was an important stage in the development of the port and its infrastructure.
