TITR Association reports surge in cargo volume and strategic plans for 2024

In Ankara, Türkiye, the Working Group and General Meeting of the “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route” (TITR) association convened on January 25-26, 2024. The meetings featured a comprehensive report highlighting the Association’s accomplishments in 2023, revealing a substantial increase in cargo volume, reaching 2.7 million tons—a notable 86% surge compared to 2022.

Emphasizing the expanding reach of the TITR route, the report also spotlighted the Association’s growth to 25 member companies from 11 countries. Noteworthy agreements were secured with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), securing a grant for the strategic development of the TITR route in 2024. The General Meeting endorsed the new Board composition and approved the 2024 cargo transportation volume plan for the TITR route.

A pivotal round table unfolded during the meetings, engaging cargo owners from Kazakhstan and Turkey in discussions on “TITR: trends, challenges, and prospects.” Representatives from the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the Türkiye Ministry of Transport shared insights, addressing crucial issues related to TITR route digitalization and identifying key collaboration points for advancing transportation development along the route.
