In the first eight months of 2024, transit along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) increased 20-fold compared to last year. These impressive results were announced at a meeting of the management of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy with Zhao Gang, Governor of the Chinese province of Shaanxi, in Xi’an as part of a forum dedicated to the TITR.
The parties noted that cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road initiative strengthens economic ties and develops transit traffic between Kazakhstan and China. One of the key elements of this strategy is the Kazakh-Chinese terminal in the dry port of Xi’an, through which 30% of container trains to Europe pass. The importance of the terminal is emphasized by the fact that 40% of imported cargo comes from Kazakhstan.

Thanks to the terminal’s operation and the active use of TMTM’s capabilities, cargo delivery times to Azerbaijan have been reduced to 11 days, and to Georgia to 14 days, which significantly improves logistics chains in the region.
