Ukrzaliznytsia and Rail Cargo Hungaria Zrt. are joining efforts to increase freight traffic between Ukraine and the EU via Hungary. The corresponding memorandum of cooperation was signed by UZ subsidiary UZ Cargo Poland and the Hungarian railway company during the InnoTrans 2024 exhibition in Berlin.

The memorandum provides for the development of transportation through the border crossings of Batevo-Eperjeske and Záhony-Chop, as well as the optimization of the use of wagons of both the European and wide tracks for international transportation. The cooperation is also aimed at improving the quality of customer service by developing new transport solutions.

In the coming years, a significant increase in intermodal and conventional freight traffic between Ukraine and the EU is predicted, which will be a key stage in the development of the European-Ukrainian transport infrastructure.
