YTO Express forges partnership with Kazakhstan for high-tech multimodal centers

Kazakhstan’s President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, held a meeting with YTO Express Co., Ltd Chairman Yu Huai Zhao to discuss prospective collaboration in e-commerce, transportation, and logistics. Tokayev highlighted the existing presence of major marketplaces like Alibaba, Wildberries, OZON, and JD.com in Kazakhstan, expressing the country’s plans to increase the share of e-commerce to 20% of the total trade market by 2030.

The President received information about YTO Express Group’s intentions to establish a Central Asian headquarters in Kazakhstan and enter the local market. These plans will be formalized through a cooperation agreement between Kazpost (National Postal Operator of Kazakhstan) and YTO Express Group. Tokayev expressed readiness for mutually beneficial collaboration, especially within the framework of the “One Belt, One Road” Chinese initiative. Yu Huai Zhao, Chairman of YTO Express Co., Ltd, introduced the company’s key project, involving the construction of high-tech Class A multimodal centers in various regions of Kazakhstan. Leveraging intelligent IT solutions, these centers will facilitate automated logistics and customs processes, expediting product deliveries to EU, EAEU, and Central Asian countries.
