Yusen Logistics reorganizes GHQ into a new company.

Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd. (YLK) announced a reorganization of its global management structure, separating the Global Headquarters (GHQ) into a separate company — Yusen Logistics Global Management Co., Ltd. (YLGM). This move is part of the corporate transformation under the grand strategy “TRANSFORM 2025.” Previously, the headquarters and the Japan region were managed separately, but will now become independent structures with functions that provide more flexible and responsive decision-making and strengthen management.

YLGM will serve as the central hub responsible for the global management of Yusen Logistics Group. The company focuses on developing and implementing strategies to achieve growth on an international scale. At the same time, YLK will transform itself into an operating company that can quickly respond to market changes and adapt to local conditions. YLGM will be headquartered in Tokyo and will serve as a platform for the exchange of global talents, supporting NYK Group’s vision of “a global company with a Japanese base.”

The reorganization plan includes key dates: the establishment of YLGM on July 31, the approval of the NYK split on October 31, and the signing of the agreement between YLK and YLGM on November 27. The full transfer of GHQ’s functions to YLGM and the launch of the new structure is planned for April 1, 2025.
