Zhejiang Province sets record for rail shipments to Europe and Central Asia.

In 2025, more than 3,000 international freight trains were sent from Zhejiang Province in eastern China to countries in Europe and Central Asia, setting a new all-time high for this route. These routes export a wide range of locally produced goods, including consumer goods, textiles, high-precision instruments, and other high-value-added products.

The milestone departure was recorded on the eve of the New Year, when a freight train from Jinhua, fully loaded with photovoltaic modules and auto components, traveled through the Khorgos border crossing toward Central Asia. This trip brought the number of trains between Zhejiang and countries in Europe and Central Asia to over 3,000, setting a new record for the year.

Since the launch of these routes, approximately 14,900 freight trains have been dispatched on this route, carrying over 1.22 million TEUs. Additionally, at the end of the year, record figures were also recorded at the Khorgos ICBC: passenger traffic through the border crossing exceeded 9.99 million person-times, an increase of 33.3% compared to the previous year.
