Baku Port was represented at the “United Business Europe” conference organized by the United Nations Global Compact. The event, held on October 9, saw the participation of over 250 representatives from government, business, and sustainability sectors of 30 European countries. Discussions at the conference centered around the role of the private sector in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for a resilient future and advancements in global trends.
It’s noteworthy that Baku Port, by joining the United Nations Global Compact on August 2, 2022, became the first state organization in Azerbaijan to align with the UN system. The port’s commitment to this compact involves fulfilling responsibilities related to 11 out of the 17 approved Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) endorsed by the UN system.
