Silkway CA signed a contract for the construction of a large logistics center in Tashkent.

On March 3, Silkway CA, a joint venture of the international PTC Holding group, signed an EPC contract in Tashkent with China Railway Construction Engineering Group for the construction of the first phase of a multi-functional modern logistics center. The project will be one of the largest private infrastructure projects in Central Asia and is aimed at developing regional logistics infrastructure.

IATA: Global air cargo market starts 2026 with growth.

Global air cargo demand in January 2026 increased by 5.6% year-on-year, according to data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). This figure exceeded the 4.3% growth in December. Moreover, the growth in the international segment was even more pronounced, with traffic volumes increasing by 7.2% year-on-year.

DHL Supply Chain to build carbon-neutral logistics center in Rheinbach.

DHL Supply Chain, the contract logistics arm of the DHL Group, is expanding its capacity in the Rhineland region. The company is building a new carbon-neutral logistics center in the Wolbersacker Industrial Park in Rheinbach. The approximately 26,600 square meter complex will include modern warehousing and transhipment facilities, and is scheduled to open in August 2026.

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EAEC) approved a roadmap for the development of interaction between intelligent transport systems of the EAEU countries.

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission approved a roadmap for the implementation of the Concept for the Development of Interoperability of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) among EAEU Member States. The document defines a set of measures aimed at coordinating the work of national ITS and implementing best practices for their creation and development.

The Netherlands will introduce a new road toll system for trucks from July 2026.

On July 1, 2026, changes to road toll legislation in the Netherlands will come into force, introducing a distance-based toll for trucks over 3.5 tonnes. The new system will replace the current Eurovignette mechanism and is part of a pan-European trend toward tariffs that take into account actual road use, emissions, and the sustainability of transport infrastructure.

The port of Kuryk is strengthening cooperation with partners from Azerbaijan.

Approximately 90% of cargo shipped from the Kazakh port of Kuryk is destined for Baku, from where it is then transported to international markets. This was announced following a meeting between Yerkyn Nykhmetov, General Director of Kuryk Port LLP, and representatives of the Baku International Sea Port, the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company, and the AZCON transport and communications holding company.

Shipping company Ellerman City Liners announced the relaunch of its iPEX 2 service with an updated rotation between the Port of Gdynia – Port of Hull – Gdynia. This updated route is designed to strengthen direct short-sea connections between Poland and the UK, as well as offer more flexible freight solutions across Europe. The service offers fast transhipment options to Portugal, expanding multimodal logistics options for customers.
