ADY Express and Hellmann Worldwide Logistics completed the first shipment along the Middle Corridor.

ADY Express, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan Railways, together with Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, successfully carried out the first joint cargo transportation via the Middle Corridor. The container train departed from Chongqing (China) to Europe via Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan and Georgia. The train of 55 forty-foot containers with various cargo transited Azerbaijan and was divided into several directions.

The ports of Antwerp-Bruges and Rotterdam have called on the European Commission to invest more in the competitiveness of European industry. The announcement comes ahead of the publication of the Competitiveness Compass and the Clean Industrial Deal. The ports stress that strategic autonomy, the energy transition and economic prosperity of Europe are at stake.

PSA International sets record by handling over 100 million TEU in 2024.

PSA International reached a historic milestone, handling 100.2 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) at its terminals worldwide in 2024. This is the first time in the company’s history that annual transhipment volumes have exceeded the 100 million TEU mark. The flagship terminal in Singapore handled a record 40.9 million TEU (+5.5%), while PSA’s overseas terminals added 59.2 million TEU (+5.7%). The group’s combined volume growth was 5.6% compared to the previous year.

Latvijas dzelzceļš is preparing to modernise its passenger infrastructure.

The state enterprise SJSC “Latvijas dzelzceļš” will announce tenders for railway infrastructure modernization projects on the Riga-Lugaži route. There are two major projects planned: modernization of stations on the Riga-Lugaži line (Jugla, Garkalne) and on the Riga-Lugaži-State Border section. An online consultation with suppliers will take place on January 21, 2025, via the Microsoft Teams platform.

Aena airports achieve record cargo volumes in 2024.

In 2024, the airports of the Aena Group handled more than 1.42 million tonnes of cargo, an 18% increase compared to the previous year. The network includes 46 airports and two heliports in Spain, London Luton Airport, and 17 Brazilian airports.

A2B-online launches a new freight route between the Netherlands and Italy.

On January 11, the first fully loaded A2B-online Express train with 41 containers successfully departed from the port of Moerdijk (Netherlands) to Melzo (Italy). This route, which currently operates three times a week, will be expanded to four times a week from March 2025. The new service offers a direct connection between the Netherlands and Italy, optimizing the supply chain and reducing delivery times.
