The Lithuanian government has approved a plan for the development of the Rail Baltica hub in Panevezys.

The Lithuanian government has approved the engineering infrastructure development plan for the Rail Baltica railway hub in Panevezys and has begun the process of land acquisition for public needs, which will last until the end of 2027. According to the plan, an international passenger station designed to handle up to 4,800 passengers per day will be built in the western part of the city, next to the transport hub.

ADY Express strengthens international cooperation.

ADY Express signed a number of key agreements to strengthen international cooperation at the Logitrans Türkiye 2024 exhibition in Istanbul. Among the main achievements was the signing of a memorandum of strategic partnership with China’s Neptun Logistics LTD, based in Shenzhen. The document envisages the development of container train services for cargo transportation between China and Europe via the Middle Corridor, which will increase the efficiency and speed of logistics operations.

Emons Spedition comes to C-Port with a new project.

HPC implemented the Single Maritime Window project in Georgia.

HPC Hamburg Port Consulting has completed the development and implementation of the Single Maritime Window system in Georgia. According to the company, the digital platform has successfully passed testing and is already used by more than 400 users. The project was carried out in cooperation with software developer Prodevelop and the Georgian company Plisk Consulting.

AirBaltic and Lufthansa expand codeshare cooperation.

Latvian airline AirBaltic and German Lufthansa have announced the expansion of their codeshare agreement. Thus, AirBaltic is adding its code (BT) to six Lufthansa routes from Munich: to Bremen, Cologne/Bonn, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Hannover and Stuttgart. Lufthansa, in turn, continues to use its code (LH) on AirBaltic flights to Munich from Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius.

New container cranes have been delivered to the Port of Hamburg.

The vessel “Zhen Hua 27” arrived in the Port of Hamburg, delivering new container cranes for the Burchardkai Terminal (CTB). Until November 23, the vessel remained at the Athabaskakai berth for preparation for unloading, after which the cranes were installed at berths 1 and 2. Completion of installation is scheduled for the end of November, and commissioning is scheduled for early 2025.

DHL Express and Shell launch green airfreight project in Brussels.

DHL Express has partnered with energy company Shell to supply 25,000 tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to Brussels Airport. Under the one-year contract, the SAF will be delivered via pipeline and used to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80,000 tonnes of CO₂e compared to conventional aviation fuel. The fuel is produced by replacing fossil oil with renewable feedstocks and is ISCC Plus certified.
