Kazakhstan and Georgia discussed the development of the Middle Corridor and new infrastructure projects.

On April 7, 2026, the Tübingen Regional Court opened preliminary insolvency proceedings for the logistics company Betz International. Attorney Dr. Dirk Poff has been appointed as interim administrator, tasked with assessing the company’s viability and finding an investor. The company is based in Sonnenbühl (Baden-Württemberg) and is part of the Willi Betz Group, whose history began immediately after World War II: founder Willi Betz began shipping in 1945, gradually building an international freight forwarding network.

Euroports presented the development of the Port of Koverhar as a new industrial hub for the Baltic.

At the WindEurope Offshore Helsinki conference, Euroports presented a concept for developing the port of Koverhar, located near the port of Hanko in Finland, as a next-generation industrial hub for Finland, Sweden, and the entire Baltic region. The project is positioned as a solution to the industry’s key structural deficiency: the lack of integrated port infrastructure capable of simultaneously supporting the production, assembly, and logistics of large-scale offshore projects.

Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have agreed to establish a joint venture to acquire a dredging vessel and carry out dredging operations in the ports of both countries. The corresponding agreement was signed between representatives of AZCON Holding and Samruk-Kazyna Invest. LTG Infra is implementing the YMS system across the entire Lithuanian railway network, replacing the outdated STOKIS.

LTG Infra has begun implementing a Yard Management System (YMS) across Lithuania’s entire national rail infrastructure. The new digital station management platform will replace the STOKIS system, which had been in use for over 20 years and no longer met modern cybersecurity, data exchange, and EU standards. The project, valued at approximately €2.6 million, also includes ten years of technical support and maintenance.

The port of Antwerp is working to clean up the aftermath of the oil spill at Deurganckdock.

At the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, cleanup efforts continue following an oil spill that occurred during a bunkering operation at Deurganckdock. The source of the pollution was quickly contained, but overnight the oil slick spread toward the Scheldt River. A command and control mode has been activated to coordinate the response, with emergency services focused on containment and cleanup.
