The ma-co digital training center, created as part of the PortSkill 4.0 research project, was presented at the Container Terminal Altenwerder (CTA) in Hamburg. The center is designed to prepare port employees for work in a digital and automated environment. It features cutting-edge training technologies and customized programs that help them master the new skills needed in a modern port.

DACHSER has signed a lease for a new warehouse and cross-dock for food logistics in Waddinxwijn, near Rotterdam. The new facility, which will begin operations in the third quarter of 2025, will cover 16,330 square metres, including office space, and will create around 50 new jobs. The warehouse will feature three temperature zones – dry, refrigerated and frozen – as well as 45 loading and unloading gates on three sides of the building to improve operational efficiency.

The Rail Baltica joint venture RB Rail AS has signed two new agreements under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme, which will allocate EUR 1.394 billion for the implementation of the project. Of this amount, EUR 1.163 billion is provided by the CEF, and EUR 231 million is co-financing from the Baltic States. This is the largest financing in the current period, aimed at accelerating the construction of key sections of the Rail Baltica mainline.
In Q3 2024, DHL Group recorded revenue growth of 6.2% to €20.6 billion (Q3 2023: €19.4 billion). Operating profit (EBIT) remained at the same level as the previous year at €1.37 billion, in line with market expectations and significantly above the pre-pandemic level.
Despite the decline in container traffic in the third quarter, the Port of Gothenburg expects record container throughput for 2024. A new digital pass and access system was launched at the Port of Riga on November 1. Now visitors and freight transport will be able to enter the port only with prior electronic registration, with the submission and verification of documents in digital format. This replaces the previous paper process, making operations more efficient and convenient.
