The volume of cargo transported by all modes of transport in Ukraine reached 104.4 million tons during the period from January to April 2026 – a 5% increase over the figure for the corresponding period of the previous year. These data were released by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
Railway transport accounted for the largest share of cargo shipments. During the first four months of the current year, 48 million tons of cargo were transported by rail, underscoring the sector’s pivotal role in facilitating the country’s domestic, export, and import logistics flows.
Road transport carried 45.9 million tons of cargo during the reporting period. Thus, railway and road transport together accounted for the bulk of the total cargo volume in Ukraine, which continues to demonstrate positive growth dynamics compared to the previous year.
