AD Ports Group has ordered two new container ships from the Baku Shipyard.

AD Ports Group signed a contract with the Baku Shipyard (Azerbaijan) for the construction of two shallow-draft container ships with a capacity of 780 TEU each, specifically designed for operations in the Caspian Sea. The ships are scheduled to enter service in the fourth quarter of 2027, increasing container capacity and strengthening the trans-Caspian logistics corridor.

Azerbaijan Railways is strengthening its position on the Middle Corridor.

On September 8, Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), part of AZCON Holding, met with an American business delegation in Baku. The company’s strategy for developing international transportation routes was presented to the guests, emphasizing the growth of volumes on the Middle Corridor and the diversification of routes along the East-West and North-South axes.

Azerbaijan is strengthening its position as a key link on the China-Europe route via the Middle Corridor.

On September 9, 2025, an event was held at the Absheron Logistics Center to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the launch of the China (Zhejiang)–Europe Railway Express route via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), as well as the arrival of the Yiwu (China)–Baku train. At the ceremony, representatives of Zhejiang Province, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan, and the Chinese Embassy emphasized that the passage of the 237th block train, comprising 100 containers, demonstrates Azerbaijan’s growing role as a key transit hub connecting Europe and Asia.

KTZ Express is building six modern vessels for the development of the Trans-Caspian route.

JSC KTZ Express is launching a large-scale project to build six modern sea vessels that will form the basis for developing the national container fleet and increasing the capacity of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). The new vessels will be adapted to the specific features of the Caspian Sea and inland waterways, which will ensure predictability of transit times and stability of multimodal transportation.
