Yusen Logistics (UK) and SEGRO, major players in the logistics and warehouse development sectors, are spearheading innovation with their collaborative warehouse project at SEGRO Logistics Park Northampton. Anticipated as Yusen Logistics’ largest new build venture, the groundbreaking ceremony is slated for early 2024, with full operational capabilities expected by summer 2025. With a substantial £280m investment, the 1,191,000 sq ft facility aims to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating, committing to carbon neutrality during construction and an annual reduction of 418 tCO2e in scope 1 and 498 tCO2e in scope 2.

Kazakhstan: Opening of Transport, Logistics and Innovation Centers with the participation of the President

During the teleconference, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, took part in the opening of the Transport and Logistics Center in the city of Xi’an. This center, implemented as part of an agreement between Kazakhstan and China, will strengthen ties between Kazakh and Chinese partners and create a logistics platform connecting China with Kazakhstan, Central Asia and Europe. The project should significantly reduce cargo delivery times and improve Kazakhstan’s position as a transit hub in Eurasia.

The EU approved €6.9 billion in state aid for the hydrogen infrastructure project

The European Commission has granted approval for state aid amounting to €6.9 billion from seven member states to support the third Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) in the hydrogen value chain. The IPCEI, named “Hy2Infra,” aims to enhance renewable hydrogen supply, reducing reliance on natural gas and aligning with the goals of the European Green Deal and the REPowerEU Plan. The project involves the collaboration of France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, and Slovakia.
