KTZ Express increased container transportation along the TITR by 303 times.

KTZ Express has recorded a sharp increase in container traffic along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). This was reported by Deputy General Director Aibek Kapar during the II International Transport Forum ESE ASIA-2025. According to him, the development of the route has become a key factor that has increased the volume of cargo transportation through Kazakhstan many times over.

KTZ has confirmed its course towards digitalization, investment and expansion of the railway network.

The KTZ – Freight Transportation company took an active part in the annual conference of KazAPO and ANEK in Almaty, where the key topics were the development of transport and logistics partnerships, digitalization and strengthening of Kazakhstan’s position as a regional leader. Salamat Abzhaliyev, Deputy General Director for Marketing and Planning, announced the results of the first quarter: freight turnover amounted to 66.9 billion ton-kilometers (+7.2%), and exports to China grew by 9.8%, reaching 3.6 million tons.

Maersk opens first warehouse in France: logistics hub in Denain creates hundreds of jobs.

Maersk has opened its first warehouse in France, a 75,000 m² facility in the GLP Park Denain logistics park in the Hauts-de-France region. The new hub joins the company’s global network of over 500 warehouses worldwide and strengthens Maersk’s presence in a key European market. The warehouse was inaugurated on 23 April in the presence of local authorities and business partners, underlining the strategic importance of the project for the region.

CRCT Kazakhstan strengthens cooperation with Chinese logistics structures.

A delegation from China headed by the Secretary General of the International Land Transport Committee of the China International Freight Forwarders Association and the International Freight Train Alliance Lin Beizhan visited the international logistics company CRCT Kazakhstan. The delegation also included the Director of the Alliance Zhong Weixiang and representatives of 16 Chinese logistics companies. The guests were met by the General Director of CRCT Kazakhstan Dai Hansheng and his deputy Mi Fenghao.

Kazakhstan and Tajikistan are strengthening cooperation in the field of railway transportation.

JSC NC KTZ and State Unitary Enterprise Rohi Ohani Tojikiston agreed to expand cooperation in the transport sector. During the working meeting, which was attended by the Director of the Agency for State Material Reserves of Tajikistan Nurmahmad Ahmadzoda and the head of Tajik Railways Komil Mirzoali, measures to increase the volume of freight traffic between the two countries were discussed.

Antwerp-Bruges became Europe’s largest container port in Q1 2025.

In the first quarter of 2025, the container throughput of the port of Antwerp-Bruges reached 3.44 million TEU, which is 4.5% more than in the same period of 2024 and 2.6% higher than in the previous quarter. This allowed the port to overtake Rotterdam, which handled 3.36 million TEU, and top the ranking of container ports in Europe.

China reshapes exports amid US trade restrictions.

Global trade in 2025 may shrink by 0.2% compared to 2024, warns the World Trade Organization (WTO). A scenario of a deeper decline, up to 1.5%, is possible if the US does not restore tariffs suspended for 90 days. At the same time, the WTO previously predicted global trade growth of 3% next year.

China’s Zhongcai to invest $1 billion in logistics park and data center in Abay region.

The Chinese company Zhongcai Financial Holdings Investment Co intends to build a logistics park in the Abay region of Kazakhstan. The $1 billion project is designed for the period from 2025 to 2027 and will be implemented in the Makanchinsky district, near the village of Bakhty. The park plans to launch production facilities for processing agricultural products, assembling heavy-duty equipment, and producing and storing unmanned aerial vehicles.

The port of Aktau is preparing for dredging to fully load tankers.

In June, dredging works aimed at restoring the design depth to 7.7 meters will start in the Aktau seaport. This was announced by the Chairman of the Board of the Aktau International Sea Trade Port Abay Turikpenbayev at the Caspian and Central Asia forum in Baku. Currently, due to the lowering of the Caspian Sea level, tankers cannot be fully loaded – instead of 12 thousand tons, they take about 10 thousand.
