The Port of Rotterdam has expanded the pipeline corridor for the Porthos project and future energy infrastructure.

The Port of Rotterdam Authority has completed a major expansion of the pipeline corridor along the Moezelweg at Europoort, removing a key bottleneck to the energy transition. The existing infrastructure was previously unable to accommodate new cable and pipeline routes, so it was decided to upgrade it to meet current and future needs.

Sea freight traffic in Kazakhstan grew by 67.9% in early 2025.

In January-February 2025, the volume of cargo transportation by sea in Kazakhstan reached 695 thousand tons, which is 67.9% more compared to the same period last year. This is evidenced by data from the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of Kazakhstan.

PSA, DNV and PIL team up to decarbonise maritime shipping.

PSA International, DNV Singapore and Pacific International Lines (PIL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together to measure, report and verify carbon emissions and develop sustainable solutions to reduce emissions in the maritime and logistics industries. The signing took place on 24 March at PSA’s headquarters in Singapore.

Danish company Safe Green Logistics A/S has introduced an innovative container transfer system (CTS) that enables fast and autonomous transfer of ISO containers from trucks to rail platforms without the use of cranes. The technology has already been integrated into the DB Cargo network in Denmark, enabling seamless transfer of goods between vehicles.

Kazakhstan and Slovenia strengthen cooperation in logistics and water resources.

Singapore and Rotterdam strengthen cooperation on green shipping.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and the Port of Rotterdam have signed an agreement to expand their partnership within the Green and Digital Shipping Corridor, launched in 2022. Since then, the initiative has brought together 28 container logistics players, promoting the use of sustainable fuels along the 15,000-kilometre route and implementing digital solutions. By 2030, the corridor aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from large container ships by 20-30% and accelerate the transition to paperless documentation.
