In Astana, the implementation of dredging operations at the Port of Aktau to develop the Trans-Caspian Route was discussed.

A meeting dedicated to the implementation of a dredging project within the waters of the Port of Aktau was held in Astana, chaired by Vice-Minister of Transport Zhanibek Taizhanov. The discussion was attended by representatives of “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” NC JSC, “Aktau International Sea Trade Port” NC JSC, as well as the contracting firm, China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd.

The official launch of the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway will take place on June 2.

The official commissioning ceremony for the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars (BTK) railway line will take place on June 2 at the Akhalkalaki railway station in Georgia. Representatives from Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey will attend the event. Although the route has been operating in test mode since 2017, its official status as an international transport project is only now being formally established.

Deutsche Bahn has begun construction of a new freight railway line in southwestern Germany.

The German railway company Deutsche Bahn (DB) has commenced construction of a new freight train line between Offenburg and Müllheim in the Markgräflerland region. This project is part of the modernization of the Karlsruhe–Basel section and forms a segment of the European Rotterdam–Genoa freight corridor. Two additional tracks will be laid alongside the A5 motorway; consequently, the Rhine Valley Railway will feature four tracks in the future, thereby enabling an increase in train traffic volume.

DACHSER is investing €30 million in the construction of a new logistics complex in Germany.

Logistics operator DACHSER has commenced construction of a new terminal for handling industrial and consumer goods within an industrial park located north of Memmingen. The project, valued at approximately 30 million euros, is being developed on an 8-hectare site and is scheduled for completion by the spring of 2027. The Port of Kuryk presented projects for the development of the Middle Corridor at a transport forum in the USA.

Representatives of the Port of Kuryk participated in the “USA–Eurasia” Transport Forum, held at the Port of Long Beach in California. The event was organized by the Consulates General of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, bringing together representatives from the port industry, logistics companies, the business sector, and the diplomatic community to discuss prospects for expanding trade and transport ties between the USA and the countries of Eurasia. The Kazakhstani delegation included officials from the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the leadership of the Port of Kuryk, and representatives of the country’s diplomatic missions.

Hapag-Lloyd shareholders approved dividends and re-elected the leadership of the Supervisory Board.
