The official opening of Modalink, a joint venture between Lineas and FS Logistix, took place at the Port of Antwerp. The ceremony took place at the Mainhub terminal in the presence of Federica Favi, Ambassador of Italy to Belgium; Tanja Bruynseels, Deputy Director of the Cabinet for Mobility; Eric Van Ockenburg, CEO of Lineas; and Sabrina De Filippis, CEO of FS Logistix, along with key customers, partners, and employees. The launch of Modalink underscores the strategic importance of this partnership in building a more connected, efficient, and sustainable logistics system in Europe.

Kombiverkehr plans a revised operational scheme for rail freight flows between Germany and Spain as the 2025/2026 timetable approaches. The company shifts toward two consolidation points: Ludwigshafen KTL on the German side and Barcelona Morrot in Spain. These will handle all loading units moving by rail on this corridor.

LTG Cargo Ukraine, a subsidiary of LTG Group, celebrated its fifth anniversary in the Ukrainian market by announcing significant changes to its operations. In 2025, the company changed its business model, transitioning from freight forwarding to rolling stock operation and leasing, signing lease agreements for over 400 railcars, and relocating to a new office in Lviv. Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, and the European Union signed a cooperation agreement to create and develop the Black Sea–Aegean Sea cross-border transport corridor. The project envisages the development of a north–south route in southwestern Europe using inland waterways, primarily the Danube River, rail and road infrastructure, sea and air ports, and multimodal terminals. The new route will become part of the TEN-T trans-European transport network.

CPK has received a location solution for a nearly 1-kilometer-long high-speed rail section in western Warsaw, part of which will run through a tunnel in the Warszawa Zachodnia area. This section is of strategic importance, as it will serve as an exit from the capital toward CPK Airport and Łódź, where construction of a long outer tunnel is already underway. The Warsaw-Łódź line is part of the “Y” trunk line of the high-speed rail network, the implementation of which is being coordinated by CPK.

Wabtec Corporation has completed the acquisition of Frauscher Sensor Technology Group, a global supplier of axle counters, train-detection systems and wayside monitoring solutions. The deal, valued at €675 million, strengthens Wabtec’s signalling and Digital Intelligence portfolio.
