The Port of Gdansk will conduct a business mission to Tokyo to develop Polish-Japanese trade.

On November 27, 2025, the Port of Gdańsk will host an economic mission in Tokyo, which could catalyze the development of trade relations between Poland and Japan, the world’s fourth-largest economy and one of the most promising destinations for Polish exports. The event will include a B2B session, the Gdańsk Port Business Mixer, where Polish companies will meet directly with Japanese importers, distributors, and investors.

Kazlogistics and BCG discussed the development prospects of Kazakhstan’s transport industry.

A meeting between Kanat Almagambetov, CEO of Kazlogistics, and representatives of the Boston Consulting Group (USA), took place in Astana. The parties discussed key challenges and opportunities for developing freight transportation in Kazakhstan. They focused on infrastructure, document management, and the limited capacity of terminals and transport and logistics centers.

Kazakhstan will double its freight traffic by 2029.

The Kazakh government has unveiled plans for the large-scale development of transport infrastructure and the digitalization of logistics. According to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin, the volume of freight traffic in the country will double by 2029 as part of the implementation of the President’s instructions.

AD Ports Group has ordered two new container ships from the Baku Shipyard.

AD Ports Group signed a contract with the Baku Shipyard (Azerbaijan) for the construction of two shallow-draft container ships with a capacity of 780 TEU each, specifically designed for operations in the Caspian Sea. The ships are scheduled to enter service in the fourth quarter of 2027, increasing container capacity and strengthening the trans-Caspian logistics corridor.

Contargo launches new rail service between Poland and France.

The logistics group Contargo announced the launch of a new intermodal service, Poland France Shuttle (PFS), connecting Poland and France on two routes: Dourges–Krzewie and Dourges–Kutno. The first route will begin with a weekly service between the LDCT terminal in Dourges and the Miratrans Terminal in Krzewie, while the second will provide regular service across central Poland using PCC’s partner network.

Lemtrans and Rail Trans Investment have completed the first stage of construction of a container terminal in Fastiv.

Ukraine’s largest private railcar operator, Lemtrans Group, and Rail Trans Investment, have completed the first phase of construction of the Fastiv Container Terminal. The project includes the construction of two new railway lines and a modern container yard designed to store up to 1,350 TEUs. The terminal, covering over 13 hectares, is already capable of handling up to 19,000 TEUs per year, with future capacity expected to increase to 55,000 TEUs.
