DP World has commenced operations at its first contract logistics warehouse in Turkey, located in the Balcık district in the northwest of the country. The new facility strengthens the company’s supply chain capabilities along the region’s key trade corridors. The 20,000-square-meter warehouse features 26 loading ramps and is designed to improve storage efficiency and expedite logistics operations, providing customers with more flexible and responsive supply chain management.

The facility services a wide range of cargo across DP World’s strategic segments, including automotive, technology, industrials and chemicals, retail and consumer goods, and healthcare. A team of 70 specialists manages the daily operations of the facility using an integrated warehouse management system (WMS) linked to the company’s terminal operating systems (TOS), ensuring transparency and accuracy in cargo handling from incoming to outgoing.

The opening of the warehouse marks a significant milestone in the development of DP World’s contract logistics operations in Turkey and Eastern Europe. The company plans to increase its warehouse capacity in the region to 150,000 square meters by 2028. The facility’s strategic location in Kocaeli Province, close to industrial zones, Istanbul, and the Gulf of Izmit, as well as its proximity to the Körfez and Yarımca terminals – the largest port complex in the Eastern Marmara Region – ensures rapid access to international markets. The use of energy-efficient lithium-ion battery-powered equipment also facilitates the implementation of more sustainable logistics solutions.
