On February 21, 2024, Koerschulte Group successfully launched Germany’s inaugural fully automated drone delivery service in Lüdenscheid. Developed over two years, this pioneering B2B courier delivery system utilizes automated flying drones, supported by HHLA Sky, a subsidiary of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG, which operates its integrated drone control center.

Having secured the first nationwide license for scheduled flights with delivery drones from the German Federal Office of Civil Aeronautics, Koerschulte Group now stands as the country’s first authorized delivery drone airline with automatic flying capabilities in public spaces (SAIL III operating permission). HHLA Sky’s Integrated Control Centre ensures the safety and scalability of the entire drone operation process, establishing a reliable Drones as a Service (DaaS) model. The maiden customer for this groundbreaking service is Hotset, a sensor and process control technology manufacturer in Lüdenscheid, with plans to expand to five additional flight routes in the coming months, aiming to deliver up to 80 parcels daily within Lüdenscheid.
