In Shymkent, EAEU countries discussed the digitalization of logistics and the implementation of AI in transportation.

A meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was held in Shymkent under Kazakhstan’s chairmanship. Key topics included the digitalization of logistics and the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in the transportation process. Participants focused on improving the efficiency of freight transportation and unlocking the union’s transit potential across Eurasia.

Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov noted that the union’s advantageous geographic location creates significant advantages for transit, but that fully realizing these advantages requires modernizing infrastructure and implementing modern transportation management systems. In this regard, an initiative was proposed to create an integrated cargo flow coordination platform based on AI technologies, which will reduce delivery times and lower business costs.

Special attention was paid to the digitalization of related procedures, including the transition of veterinary and phytosanitary control confirmation to a fully electronic format. The importance of expanding information exchange both between EAEU countries and with third countries was also emphasized, in order to integrate international logistics chains and strengthen the region’s export and transit potential.
