Belgorod-Dnistrovsky Sea Port signed a memorandum with APM Terminals Poti, the operator of the largest seaport in Georgia and a division of the global logistics company Maersk. This is the first such agreement of the Ukrainian port, aimed at developing cooperation within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), also known as the Middle Corridor.

Kazakhstan and Austria strengthen railway cooperation on the sidelines of the Astana Forum.

Vacad is concerned about the personnel crisis in the German air cargo industry.

In the first quarter of 2025, German air cargo terminals handled 434,182 tonnes of air freight – almost as much as in the same period last year. However, the number of employees fell by 3.5% compared to 2024 and by 5.5% compared to the previous quarter, according to the Association of German Air Cargo Operators (Vacad).

KTZ is increasing cargo transportation with China and investing in infrastructure.

From January to April 2025, the volume of rail transportation between Kazakhstan and China reached 11.4 million tons, which is 13% more than in the same period last year. 6.2 million tons (+5%) were transported through the Dostyk border crossing, 5.2 million tons (+24%) through Altynkol, reported JSC NC KTZ.

USPA strengthened cooperation with Romania and the European Commission within the framework of the “Road of Solidarity”.

METRANS has expanded its environmentally friendly transport and received new TÜV Nord certificates.

The rail operator METRANS continues to develop green logistics within the HHLA Pure service. In 2025, the company expanded its route network by connecting Istanbul, and all shipments in this direction, as previously on the sections between the ports of Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam, Gdansk, Koper, Rijeka and others, were successfully certified by TÜV Nord according to the TN-CC 020 standard.

Poti Trans Terminal has started operations.

The Poti Trans Terminal container terminal was put into operation on May 23, 2025. The project was implemented in 16 months with the support of investors from Kazakhstan, Georgia and Azerbaijan. The total investment amounted to $31.5 million, according to the Kazakh company PTC Holding.

The Port of Tallinn increased its quarterly profit by a third despite a decrease in passenger traffic.

In the first quarter of 2025, the Port of Tallinn earned a net profit of EUR 6.8 million, which is 31% more than in the same period last year. The increase in profit was driven by a 4.8% increase in the number of vessel calls and insurance compensation for the leased icebreaker Botnica.
