SJSC Latvijas dzelzceļš has announced an open tender for the modernization of passenger rail infrastructure on the Riga-Lugaži line, including the Jugla and Garkalne stations. The project includes the construction and renovation of platforms, tracks, pedestrian infrastructure and lighting, ensuring the accessibility of rail transport for all passengers, including people with limited mobility.
Singapore-based Pacific International Lines (PIL) has unveiled its fourth dual-fuel LNG vessel, the Kota Embun, at a ceremony in Shanghai. The vessel is the first in PIL’s fleet to feature a windscreen, which improves aerodynamics and reduces fuel consumption by 1% per year.

An important partner of Maersk is Nestlé, which has been using the ECO Delivery Ocean product since 2023, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions by more than 80% compared to conventional fuels, supporting its ambitions to reduce its carbon footprint.

Particular attention was paid to the development of the infrastructure of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), which plays a key role in the transit of goods between Europe and Asia.

In 2024, the Lithuanian transport sector recorded a 10.3% increase in freight traffic compared to the previous year, the State Data Agency reports. Excluding transportation via oil pipelines, the volume of transported freight increased by 11% and amounted to 181.6 million tons.
Companies and institutions of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, playing a key role in the energy sector in Poland, have signed the LIBRA (Safety and Development Line) agreement. On behalf of the Port of Gdańsk Authority, it was signed by Alan Aleksandrowicz, Vice President for Finance and Security, and Krzysztof Kaczmarek, Vice President for Infrastructure. The Adrian Maersk, one of the newest vessels in the Maersk fleet to run on green methanol, has called at the Baltic Hub container terminal. The 351-metre long, 54-metre wide, 16,000 TEU container ship is part of the company’s strategy to reduce emissions in maritime shipping.
CSP Iberian Valencia Terminal has ordered seven hybrid RTG cranes from Konecranes, strengthening its commitment to the green modernization of its port equipment. The new units will join 11 similar cranes already in operation in Valencia and Bilbao, reducing fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions.
DB Cargo UK is launching the upgrade of its Class 66 locomotives to the ETCS train control system in partnership with Siemens Mobility. This is the first stage of a national programme aimed at digitalising rail services and improving safety. The project is part of the £1.4bn East Coast Digital Programme, which will replace traditional signalling systems with digital ones that feed information directly into the cab for drivers.
