IATA recorded double-digit growth in global air cargo demand in February.
Global air cargo demand grew by 11.2% year-on-year in February 2026, double the January figure, according to the International Air Transport Association. This growth was driven by strong shipments ahead of the Chinese New Year holiday and a recovery in traffic after a seasonal decline in late 2025. The international segment continued to outperform the overall market, with cross-border traffic volumes increasing by 11.6%, driven by robust demand on long-haul routes.

At a meeting of the Public Council at Samruk-Kazyna, the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in portfolio companies was reviewed, with a focus on logistics and projects of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy National Company. This work is being carried out in accordance with the President’s directive of April 30, 2024, to integrate basic AI elements into the real sector. Sixty-two AI projects are already being implemented in the energy, oil and gas, transport, and telecommunications sectors, with the key goal of increasing efficiency, operational transparency, and reducing losses.

The European Climate, Infrastructure, and Environment Executive Agency (ECIA) announced the completion of verification and the successful closure of EU funding for pre-project work on the Katowice-Border railway line. The recipient of a €1.75 million grant was Centralny Port Komunikacyjny, the company implementing the Port Polska investment programme. Funds allocated under the CEF’s Connecting Europe instrument covered 50% of eligible costs and enabled the completion of seven key preparatory stages, including an environmental inventory, the development of a feasibility study (STEŚ), the development of a spatial concept, and the submission of an application for an environmental decision.

Nagel-Group opened a new logistics centre for temperature-controlled food logistics in Gdansk.
Nagel-Group has expanded its temperature-controlled logistics network in Poland with the opening of a new logistics center in Gdansk. Built in partnership with developer LemonTree, the facility is designed to handle sensitive food products. The complex features a variety of storage areas, from temperature-controlled rooms and ultra-fresh rooms to a large cross-docking warehouse. The infrastructure also allows for the integration of additional refrigeration and freezing facilities if needed.
