AirBaltic cancels 4,670 flights for summer 2025.

Latvian airline airBaltic has announced the cancellation of 4,670 flights in the 2025 summer season. The reasons for the cancellations are delays and prolonged maintenance of Airbus A220-300 aircraft engines by supplier Pratt & Whitney. Due to this, several aircraft will remain grounded, forcing the airline to adjust its schedule, including canceling 19 routes and reducing flight frequencies.

ASCO strengthens fleet with new Aframax tanker.

As part of its 2022-2030 development strategy, ASCO has added a new Aframax tanker to its fleet, acquired from Capital Maritime and Trading Corp. The vessel, which meets modern environmental and safety standards, has a deadweight of 115,500 tons, a length of 249.95 meters and a speed of up to 16 knots.

The first cargo flight from Urumqi to Istanbul.

The first cargo flight from Urumqi, China, to Istanbul was completed on Thursday. The plane carrying 55 tons of cargo took off from Diwopu International Airport, and the flight time between the cities was about seven hours. According to the customs service, flights on this route will be operated four times a week.

“Balkan” has started construction of the first dry cargo ship in cooperation with Koryo Shipbuilding.

The Balkan Shipyard in Turkmenistan laid the keel of the first of two dry cargo ships with a deadweight of 6.1 thousand tons, which are being built jointly with the South Korean company Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology (KSIT). The ceremony was attended by representatives of the shipyard and KSIT President Choi En-wook.
