AD Ports Group is expanding through the acquisition of Tbilisi Dry Port

AD Ports Group, a leading port and logistics operator from Abu Dhabi, has entered into an agreement with Inveco LLC to acquire 60% of the shares of Tbilisi Dry Port – a new intermodal logistics center in Georgia with customs warehouses and access to the regional railway network. The TDP project, currently owned by Inveco and Wilhelmsen, is planned to be operational by the fourth quarter of 2024.

KTZ Express and QazTrade signed an agreement on export cooperation

JSC “KTZ Express” and JSC “Center for Trade Policy Development “QazTrade” entered into a partnership agreement with the aim of actively promoting Kazakhstan’s products on world markets. This document is aimed at joint efforts to expand the export of non-commodity goods of the country, providing optimal delivery routes and reducing transport costs. As part of the cooperation, the parties plan to actively develop multimodal logistics services for exports and integrate information platforms to optimize the transportation process.

Approval received: Norway builds ammonia bunkering complex

Yara Clean Ammonia, Azane, and Fjord Base have received approval from the Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection for the construction of an ammonia bunkering facility at Fjord Base in Florø, Norway. This milestone paves the way for the adoption of ammonia as a safe and low-emission alternative to conventional shipping fuels, addressing the final link in the supply chain from production plant to vessel.

Mersin International Port reaches 25 million TEU: future plans

Mersin International Port (MIP), Turkey’s primary container terminal, marked a significant milestone on March 27, 2024, by surpassing 25 million Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEU) handled since its establishment in 2007. The celebration, held at the East Med Hub 1 Terminal in Mersin, saw the participation of partners, customers, government officials, and industry associations. Originally formed as a partnership between PSA International and Akfen in 2007, with IFM Investors joining in 2017, MIP has maintained an average annual growth of 14.4 percent in container volumes, reaching approximately 2 million TEUs in 2023.
