Stadler has opened a new plant in Poland for the production of traction converters.

Swiss company Stadler has opened a new production center in the Polish city of Bialystok, specializing in the production of traction and auxiliary DC/DC converters. These devices will be used in trams, metro trains and narrow-gauge rolling stock. The plant is equipped with innovative technologies that allow testing of equipment in conditions simulating real operation.

PSA International, GDTC and TITR have joined forces to develop the Green Corridor.

At the COP29 conference in Baku, a cooperation agreement was signed between PSA International, Global DTC (GDTC) and the International Association “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route” (TITR). The document is aimed at developing the Middle Corridor as an environmentally responsible and efficient route. The initiative plans to digitally integrate the route to increase its transparency and accessibility.

DFDS and Ekol Logistics have terminated their deal.

Danish logistics company DFDS and Turkish Ekol Logistics have announced that they have cancelled their deal to buy the Turkish company’s international operations. The decision was made after DFDS said that Ekol had failed to meet some mandatory conditions of the agreement reached in August this year.

Maersk opens first customs warehouse in Vietnam.

A.P. Moller – Maersk has opened its first bonded warehouse in Vietnam at SLP Park in Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Zone in Hai Phong Province. Managed by Maersk Contract Logistics, the warehouse is an important step in expanding the company’s presence in northern Vietnam amid growing demand for import and export services. The opening was supported by the Commercial Counsellor of the Danish Embassy in Vietnam, Mr. Lasse Pedersen Hjortshøi, who stressed the importance of international business cooperation.

The EAEU is considering the digitalization of transport and the expansion of “Seamless Transit”.

The meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) discussed the introduction of digital technologies to create a single transport space in the EAEU. Kazakhstan presented the Seamless Transit project, developed jointly with Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC and the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The project, launched in May 2024, is already operating on the China-Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan route, allowing for the automation of container transportation from China to Central Asia and Europe.

The transport and communications holding AZCON has been established in Azerbaijan.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the establishment of the Azerbaijan Transport and Communications Holding (AZCON), which will unite the country’s key transport enterprises. The created structure, which is a legal entity of public law, was transferred the management of Azerbaijan Railways, the Caspian Shipping Company, the Baku International Sea Trade Port, the Baku Shipyard and other state-owned companies.

Kazakhstan is developing the ports of Kuryk and Aktau.

Active development of new logistics infrastructure continues in the Kuryk port in Kazakhstan. At the end of September, the first batch of cargo was received at the Sarzha terminal of the multifunctional sea terminal, and by the end of October, a ship with 4.5 thousand tons of metal is planned to be dispatched. The development project is being carried out by the Kazakhstani company SEMURG INVEST, which has completed key stages of construction, including berths and railway approaches. It is planned to fully complete all Sarzha facilities by 2030, which, according to the company’s CEO Nurzhan Marabayev, will increase the throughput capacity of the Middle Corridor by 10 million tons per year.

Yusen Logistics reorganizes GHQ into a new company.

Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd. (YLK) announced a reorganization of its global management structure, separating the Global Headquarters (GHQ) into a separate company — Yusen Logistics Global Management Co., Ltd. (YLGM). This move is part of the corporate transformation under the grand strategy “TRANSFORM 2025.” Previously, the headquarters and the Japan region were managed separately, but will now become independent structures with functions that provide more flexible and responsive decision-making and strengthen management.
