Kazakhstan to increase cargo flow through Middle Corridor to 10 million tons by 2027.

The Government of Kazakhstan has reported on the progress in implementing the Roadmap for the Development of the Middle Corridor, which connects Kazakhstan with Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia. It is planned to increase the throughput capacity to 10 million tons of cargo per year by 2027. This initiative was a response to the Address of the President of Kazakhstan to the Nation on the modernization of the economy.

Kedentransservice will create a joint venture for multimodal transportation in the port of Alyat.

Kedentransservice JSC will participate in the creation of a joint venture for the organization of multimodal transportation in the port of Alyat (Azerbaijan). At a meeting in Baku with the participation of Xi’an Free Trade Port Construction and Operation Co., Ltd and BMMTP CJSC, the details of the project for the creation of an intermodal terminal in the port and the formation of a partner enterprise for the development of cargo transportation were discussed.

Liège Airport and LLI will create a large multimodal hub.

Liège International Airport and terminal operator Liège Logistics Intermodal (LLI) have announced a strategic partnership aimed at creating a major multimodal hub in the Liège area. The project will be based on the modernization and expansion of the existing road and rail terminal owned by the SPI Economic Development Agency.

Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan presented the modernized Baku-Tbilisi-Kars route.

At a joint meeting of JSC NC KTZ and CJSC Azerbaijan Railways, the modernized Baku-Tbilisi-Kars route was presented to Kazakhstani shippers. The meeting participants discussed the route’s prospects, its capacity, tariffs and terminal capabilities. The main topic was increasing the efficiency of cargo transportation between Asia and Europe, bypassing the Black Sea ports.

Kazakhstan and TRACECA discussed cooperation and development of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia transport corridor.

A video conference was held in Kazakhstan between the new National Secretary of the Permanent Secretariat of the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission, Mr. Bektassov S.B., and the Secretary General of the Permanent Secretariat of TRACECA, Mr. Assavbayev A.A. The meeting discussed Kazakhstan’s participation in TRACECA initiatives, as well as the prospects for developing the routes of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia International Transport Corridor.

PTC completed the first multimodal transportation on the new China-Georgia route.

PTC Cargo together with PTC Freight Agency (PRC) and Poti Transterminal (Georgia) successfully completed the first multimodal transportation on the new route Jinan (China) – Poti/Tbilisi (Georgia). This project, carried out on a door-to-door basis, included the transportation of 56 containers, of which 2 were 20-foot and 54 were 40-foot.

A seminar was held as part of the 19th Exhibition of Chinese Goods in Astana, bringing together interregional business associations of China and Kazakhstan. Representatives of key industries, including agriculture, logistics, chemistry, light industry, tourism and mining, took part in the discussions.
